Sup Sri Lanka: Elements Watersports and Nature Resort sits on the shores of the Indian Ocean and the beautiful Kappalady Lagoon.
The waters of the lagoon are calm and flat which make them perfect for stand up paddling. On-site we have SUPs to rent and guests have only to walk a few short steps from their villa or cabana to the beach where they can step directly on to a stand up paddle board and take a tour of the mangrove waters of the lagoon.
As you paddle you can enjoy the stillness of the water as well as the Sri Lankan bird-life as you glide down mangrove channels and along the palm-lined shores of the lagoon. En-route you will chance upon hidden lagoons and watch fish jumping and gliding beneath you board. We recommend taking a GoPro camera along with you as we can guarantee that you will be away to take away some lovely photos and videos.
Here at Elements we also offer guided stand up paddle tours of other local lagoons. On hand we have an endless selection of fantastic SUP spots and downwinder routes. Guests can choose between sand bars, beaches and islands. We take you there by boat and our team escort you from spot to spot as you enjoy the sight and sounds of Sri Lankan nature. You can also cruise past isolated fishing villages on beaches and islands.
This area also has mile upon mile of undeveloped coastline. From November to April, the ocean is calm and is ideal for SUP tours. From Mid December to March the wind picks up in the afternoon but early mornings are a wonderful time to hop onto an SUP and paddle gently along the coast.
